Elitehood Tablet Stand
★★★★☆ - Great!
Very stable, if a bit heavy and large when folded
Pros
Very sturdy, no wobble, even with a heavy tablet
Good height range and great angle adjustability
Wide grip can hold a tablet in a case
Looks sharp
Cons
On the heavy side for its size (1.5 lbs / 660 g)
Doesn’t fold as flat as others in this category
The little rubber grips sometimes slide off
Height may be lower than ideal
Review
Elitehood’s tablet stand is an absolute tank, for better and worse. I ended up needing a different stand after my first small, plastic stand was incapable of supporting the weight of my 11” iPad + a case. It also didn’t get as tall as I was wanting.
I picked up this stand hoping it would solve these issues, and it very much did. The price was fine ($35), though not as inexpensive as my laptop stand. The thing holds the tablet + case without a hint of a wobble and in a variety of angles. Thanks to the three pivot points you can adjust the position forward and backward, even sitting in front of the base of the stand. This was great when I wanted the tablet to actually stick out off a table at one point.
The downside is that it is a bit heavier than even the laptop stand despite a much smaller footprint. It’s just solid like a tank. As a wise man once said,
”with great stability comes great density.” The large, strong hinges also limit the foldability, meaning it is still pretty wide when fully folded.
Once final note is that the little rubber grips that hold the tablet sometimes slide off. I probably just need to put a drop of superglue in them though and would be fine.
Conclusion
If you don’t mind the weight and have space for the folded room it takes up, the Elitehood tablet stand is a great choice. It should handle almost anything (it claims to be fine with the 13” iPad) and seems unlikely to ever fail.
