People can have very different interpretations of what a star rating means. For example, ★★★☆☆ for a movie is probably still a pretty good movie, while ★★★☆☆ for an Uber driver means they are likely a serial killer. So I'll clarify here what I mean by each rating level.

I also started out giving half-star ratings as well but decided to force myself to be less wishy-washy and admit that there's only so "accurate" I can get with these anyway, so I decided to limit myself to just 5 ratings.

★★★★★ - Outstanding! It will become your new high bar to measure against.

★★★★☆ - Great! It is well-designed with no significant drawbacks; you will not be disappointed.

★★★☆☆ - Good. It gets the job done and is an okay purchase, but has at least one major downside.

★★☆☆☆ - Meh. Only buy this if it suits a particular need that you have and you can't find an alternative.

★☆☆☆☆ - Garbage. Avoid at all costs, this shouldn't even be available for sale.

It's hard to answer this, since you'll get the same answer from someone who is trustworthy and someone who is unscrupulous.

I also pledge to not receive any money for doing reviews and to not allow the fact that I got an item for free influence my review. It's much more important to me to maintain my integrity than to please some tablet stand manufacturer.
