Samsonite Toploader Bag

★★★★★ - Outstanding!

Sturdy and organized bag that is surprisingly big.

Pros

  • Large enough for a full travel office

  • Lots of pockets for organizing

  • Has proven to be quite durable

Cons

Here’s everything I carry in that one bag every day

  • On the expensive side ($136 at time of writing)

  • The strap pad is a bit thin, may want to replace

  • Holds so much it’s easy to make it quite heavy

Review

First things first, this bag is large. If you’re not taking multiple stands, an external keyboard, wrist rests, and large headphone cases, you won’t need this. But if you want to be able to lug a shocking amount of laptop equipment in a single, sturdy bag, this is for you.

As a name-brand bag, this Samsonite toploader is a little pricey, but it has also been through a lot and keeps on trucking. I’ve been lugging it around, stuffed to the brim, for 6 years now and it’s still in fantastic shape.

The bag’s main pocket is big enough that I actually keep my laptop bag inside of this bag (making for an easy transition to a lighter travel version by just taking the laptop bag out). Meanwhile, the larger side pocket is wide enough to hold large accessories like the tablet stand, headphones, and a large battery. Every time I think the bag is full and I get a new accessory, I somehow am still able to fit it.

My only minor quibble is with the shoulder strap - there is no padding, which sucks for the weight I put in it. I ended up getting an after-market pad for it, which helped a lot. Overall the bag has been great and I take it with me all the time. It also works well for other things - I once fit about 10 board games in there (admittedly most were small ones) for a game night I went to.

Conclusion

A bag that seems bigger on the inside than the outside, it’s a bit overkill for a small coffice, but is able to handle a full-fledged one easily.
